Generally,there are 3 situations that you would need to get the temporary resident Registration Form:

1. Everytime when you hold a new visa entering into China within 24 hours(village 72 hours);

2. Everytime after you get a new resident permit;

Tips:

1. Many foreigners have reversed the order to get a new temporary resident registration form.They would not get this until they need to extend their stay for a new resident permit.However,you actually need to provide a temporary resident registration form from the time right after your old resident permit just issued to the time you gonna get a new one.
