5,6-dimethoxy-2-(4-piperidiny)

5,6-dimethoxy-1-indanone was synthesized from veratraldehyde by Knoevenagel reaction with malonate,sodium borohydride reduction and cyclization with polyphosphoric acid,with the total yield of 76.3%.The structure of the compound was identified by IR and 1HNMR spectra.This synthetic route with lower cost and danger,mild reaction conditions and high yield,was worthy to have a further pilot manufacture.
