It is a synthetic mimetic of two natural skin enzymes: catalase and superoxide dismutase. It protects against free radicals, DNA damages and reduces erythema and redness. It helps prevent premature aging and scavenges superoxide free radicals, eliminates hydrogene peroxide (H2O2) and transforms reactive oxygen species(ROS) into water and oxygen which are beneficial for the skin. It protects skin tissue against toxic compounds, protects skin against UV-induced DNA damage leading to limit premature photo-aging. It inhibits MMP-2, thus preserving a good ECM network. It reduces damages caused by UV and skin free radical activity. It is used in prevention of DNA damage, repair DNA, brighten skin tone, anti-irritant, anti-stress, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and sun care products. It is complementary to SPF ingredient. EUK-134 has dual antioxidant function
